Carla Sanguetin, Senior Quality Systems Specialist
Forge Biologics
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Chemistry from Brazil and began my career at AstraZeneca’s Mount Vernon, IN site in 2018. Initially, I worked as a Chemist I in the Quality Control Laboratory and later transitioning to the Regulatory Compliance team in 2021. Seeking to deepen my knowledge and expand my career, I enrolled in the BIRS program that same year.
I first learned about the BIRS program through colleagues who had completed it and highly recommended it. Their positive experiences inspired me to pursue the opportunity, and I’m glad I did. The program’s hybrid format, which combines in-person and online learning, was invaluable in helping me balance coursework with my professional responsibilities. The flexibility allowed me to stay on track while maintaining strong job performance.
The instructors were highly knowledgeable, supportive, and well-connected within the industry, providing valuable guidance and practical insights that enhanced my learning experience. Throughout the program, I gained a deeper understanding of industry practices, regulatory compliance, and drug development. This has enabled me to confidently engage in discussions, contribute to projects, and lead initiatives with greater expertise.
This program offers immense value, equipping participants with practical skills and insights that directly impact their careers. It has broadened my professional capabilities, provided me with tools to navigate regulatory expectations more effectively, deepened my confidence, and strengthened my expertise in the field.
For anyone looking to advance their career in the life sciences, the BIRS program is an outstanding opportunity to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience that can make a meaningful difference in your work.
